Caroline Nin

Caroline Nin in SCARLET STORIES "Scarlet Stories" reflects Caroline Nin's fascination with the red light districts of our famous cities - Berlin, Paris, New York - and the larger than life characters that inhabit these areas set against the political and artistic backdrop of the era, be it 1920's Weimar Berlin , the French "Art Nouveau" or the "Surrealists Mouvement" lead by Dali and Man Ray.

All times of struggle but also of decadence. All times of all kind of excesses and of "Anything Goes" from the seductive to the grotesque, from the seedy to the sensational.

Caroline sings of the illicit loves, daily struggles, passion, tears and laughter of the ladies of the night, the lost men and the disaffected.

The romanticised "fille de joie" has always inspired song writers, film makers, writers, performers and their lives are truly and beautifully depicted with songs from Nina Simone, Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, Marlene Dietrich, Grace Jones, Marc Almond and also fillm scores from "Sweet Charity", "Cabaret" and "Victor & Victoria".
